The film poster illustrates the Japanese family structure within Japanese Society. With the father resembling the thumb, the mother the index finger, the grandmother the middle finger, and the two children the ring and pinky fingers. This film poster is an example of how businesses used practical poster designs at the time. 

The Complete Commercial Artist: Making Modern Design in Japan, 1928-1930 includes 24 volumes of the different spaces design was forming within Japanese society at the time. The book also includes an introduction by Gennifer Weisenfeld, an excerpt of “Introduction to Commercial Art” by Hamada Masuji, and selected biographies.
