Transitional Topics 2011.3.11–2015.3.11

This is a poster for the Printing Museum’s exhibition. Transitional Topics 2011.3.11–2015.3.11 is a graphic work by Japanese graphic designer Takeo Nakano. It was presented in 2015 at the Printing Museum’s exhibition Graphic Trial 2015 – Ori. 

The work visually organizes information from the four years between March 11, 2011 and March 11, 2015. Using colorful circles of different sizes against a black background, Nakano transforms data and the passage of time into a visual composition.

Nakano is a graduate of the Department of Visual Communication Design at Musashino Art University. He later returned to the department as an associate professor in 2018. His practice is closely connected to visual communication and the way information can be reorganized and communicated through graphic design.
