Riot Gear -- Don't Leave Home Without It

This is a political sticker made ca.1990, titled Riot Gear -- Don't Leave Home Without It, and the artist is unknown. A part of its exhibition history is "Paper Bullets: 100 Years of Political Stickers From Around the World", an exhibit curated by Catherine Tedford in the U.S. The exhibit was held September 13-October 24 in 2014 in Berlin, Germany.

Political stickers, sometimes small in size and sometimes referred to as “stickerettes” are important to both political scenes and the underground design scene, as they've been used for over a century, mainly in what would be considered “left-wing” spaces, where people fight for worker's rights, and equality for people of color,  queer people, women, and men. In early creations of political stickers, the creators likely remained anonymous or semi-anonymous to avoid backlash from those with opposing views or retaliation from governments.
