In Japan in 1967, the Oshino Electric Lamp Works Company created a logo for thier miniature electric lamps sales. The company was founded in March of 1931 and has held a record of having over 80 years of success and running sales. The company also has overseas presence in the United States, Germany, and Hong Kong, making Christmas decorations and developing gas stoves as well. This logo is significant to the history of graphic design because of its long standing minimalistic design that helped for other designs to follow in its footsteps for foundational brand identifies.
"Chronicle Books publishes some of the finest and least expensive titles on graphic design. A few years ago, it launched several sets of small format, full-color paperbacks, each about 130 pages in length, on trademarks, typography, and various episodes in design history. Flawlessly produced, each begins with a brief essay, followed but at least 100 illustrations, sometimes as many as 600.
