This is a 1981 Japanese theatrical poster illustrated by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko for the film Mobile Suit Gundam. This film is a compilation of episodes from the original Mobile Suit Gundam television series. It centers on Amuro Ray, a teenager who stumbles upon and becomes the pilot of the RX-78-2 Gundam during the war between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon. The poster shows Amuro alone, holding his helmet in front of the RX-78-2 Gundam. The poster does an excellent job establishing the scale of the Gundam that Amuro is piloting. The enormous head of the titular Gundam occupies the majority of the background, while Amuro is small in the center.
