WE ARE MARVEL FAN CLUB EXHIBITION (Parco)
This is a poster from a 2003 art exhibition designed by Tadanori Yokoo for the WE ARE MARVEL FAN CLUB EXHIBITION. It shows Spider-Girl placed in a traditional-looking Japanese interior, Mount Fuji and a Japanese landscape outside the window, and Spider-Man swinging across the window. Tadanori Yokoo expertly combines American comic book imagery with imagery associated with traditional Japan. This creates an interesting crossover between 19th-century Japanese visuals and 20th-century American superhero comics. This print makes reference to Utagawa Hiroshige's Asakusa Ricefields and Torinomachi Festival.
