UCHIDA

This post archives the front and back covers of the book “Uchida,” a book cataloging the art and thoughts of sculptor Kazutaka Uchida. Uchida’s book art was done by Yoshifumi Hayashi and printed by Artex Hakushindo Inc. The book, released in 1991, displays a photo of one sculpture from Uchida’s 1989 installation: “Spirit and Matter,” taking up three-fourths of the front cover. Left of the photo, on top of a white background, is text written vertically in kanji and English. In kanji, “Collection of Sculptures by Kazutaka Uchida” and “Kundando” are written, with Uchida’s name written in English between the two phrases. On the back of the cover is a photo of Uchida’s 1991 sculpture “Cosmos,” slightly off center to the left of the page atop a white background. At the bottom left corner of the back cover in kanji is the book’s original listed price of four thousand yen.
