A promotional poster designed by Shichiro Imatake around 1952 for Toyo Rayon's (now Toray) nylon raincoats.
At the time, nylon was a groundbreaking new material, and Imatake brilliantly captures its lightweight, waterproof qualities through a silhouette of a person walking with an umbrella.
The poster's composition and bold use of color made it a standout piece, carrying it to the "International Poster Exhibition" at the National Museum of Modern Art in 1953. It remains a key example of early post-war Japanese graphic design and is currently preserved in the collection of the National Crafts Museum.
