Kyogen/狂言
The poster was designed for the Summer Institute of Asian Performing Arts at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Kyogen is a traditional form of Japanese theater that is usually performed as a comedic interlude between Noh plays. It is known for its humor, satire, and exaggerated performances, often portraying the lives of ordinary people and social issues. In contrast to the serious and formal nature of Noh theater, Kyogen presents a lighter and more entertaining perspective.
