Design for hardcore/adjacent albums are often overlooked or even dismissed by the general public, mostly because of their chaotic, overwhelming style and music that’s involved. Designs such as these are very underrepresented in the archive at this moment, it’s important to include these works because of the rich history behind the scene surrounding them.
Released on June 8, 2004, “Watch out!” is Alexisonfire’s second studio release. Illustrated by Justin Winstanley, the cover is based on lyrics from the song That Girl Possessed off of the same album. The cover depicts a chaotic scene, reflecting the album’s themes of personal turmoil, strained relationships, identity crises, and moments of regret.
