In modern design, being highly considerate with user experiences such as with the case of intuitive interfaces, grid-like formations that informed the digital age and currently, led us into the contemporary digital landscape. In contemporary digital design, function over form itself, mirroring Beatrice's wards seminal essay “The Crystal Goblet” in where she argues typography should be a transparent vessel to which holds the content” These works disagree and use their striking or even unexpected forms to guide us into the content.

Paul uses the Gameboy as an imperfect substrate, in order to communicate the desire to share in telling stories. The screen is so low resolution, and hard to completely make out at first what is being shown. But in doing so it allows the viewer to enjoy art and literature through a solitary single device, turning it personal.
