Type Specimen of Swing Bold

4

This specimen leaflet presents Swing Bold, a script display face shown in multiple sizes and settings.

It corresponds to Swing 583, Lanston Monotype’s version of Kaufmann Bold (ATF, 1936). The reverse includes an advertisement demonstrating the typeface in use.

Bonus feature: the amazing Ocean City, Maryland, advert on the back, most likely designed by Baltotype (a Maryland-based type retailer) to boost sales of the metal type.

Folded, the leaflet measures 6 × 9.25 inches. Opened, it is 12 × 9.25 inches.
