Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power

129

The iconic 1992 Vulgar Display of Power album cover was photographed by Brad Guice and art direction was handled by Bob Defrin. The photo was a controlled studio shoot featuring model Sean Cross. It features a raw, high-contrast, black-and-white aesthetic, perfectly capturing the album's aggressive, heavy theme. Brad Guice confirmed the model was never punched, but was instead pushed hard to create the illusion of impact while using a slow shutter speed for a textured, violent blur. The logo used a bold, simple font, prioritizing immediate impact.
