The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) Movie poster

The Slumber Party Massacre is an American slasher film produced and directed by Amy Jones, starring Michelle Michaels, Robin Stille, and Michael Villella. The original premise of the film was written as a parody film by feminist author Rita Mae Brown, but was later repurposed by producers. 

The poster features the four main characters centered by the legs of an anonymous figure holding a power drill, alluding to the horror plot of a slumber party gone wrong. The saturated colors and typography of the movie title match the 1980s slasher-thriller style. The poster also features a tagline at the top of the poster, typical to 1980s horror posters, that reads, “Close your eyes for a second…and sleep forever.”

The original 1982 poster's specific is uncredited in historical records, as was common for B-movie marketing of that era. The marketing and distribution of the film is credited to New World Pictures.
