Margo St. James Hookers Ball

19

A poster for the 1979 Masquerade Hookers Ball by sex worker activist Margo St. James designed by David Willis. The ball was a fundraising and advocating event by Margo St. James' COYOTE (Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics) for sex worker's civil rights and legal funds. It would advocate for prostitution decriminalization and educate about AIDS in the sex work industry. It also fostered community and resources for groups outcasted for their identity like sex workers, queer people, the kink community, feminists, and sex-positivity advocates. David Willis would help design posters for the balls and the logo of COYOTE.
