Cafe lmnop Drag Show Advert

19

An advertisement for a drag show held at Cafe lmnop in historical Lexington, Kentucky. It uses minimal words to advertise a drag show on Thursday 27th, with the name of the cafe, the type of show, the date, boy, and girl all being in the same font. The poster is designed by Bill Widener Jr., whose signature is on the bottom left corner. He was often a designer for lmnop posters with a minimalist outline illustration style only using black on a bright colored background. The design is stylized for the hair of the performer to become a question mark. Cafe lmnop was owned by drag queen Bradley Picklesimer and was a queer friendly bar that was a cornerstone of Kentucky's LGBTQ history.
