Cocteau Twins “Heaven or Las Vegas”

19

Album cover for Scottish band Cocteau Twins sixth studio album. The design is a collaboration between photographer Andy Rumball and designer Paul West. The image is of Christmas lights under long exposure with handwritten typography. The album was released in 1990 and was met with critical acclaim.

Formed in 1979, Cocteau Twins were a rock band known for their ethereal, dreamy sounds that spearheaded the dream pop genre. Perhaps the most notable aspect of their music is the vocals, which are a mishmash of invented and foreign words, adding to the band's already otherworldly style. The group disbanded in 1997, but their music still continues to be influential today.
