“Jazz” design for paper cups

82

Trademarked “jazz” design that is featured on disposable cups manufactured by the Sweetheart Cup Company (later purchased by Solo)

This swashy meme has a cult following. The design has been applied to paper cups, but also plates, napkins, cars, tshirts. “broad, jagged, crayon-like brushstroke of teal coloring, topped by a finer zig-zagged brushstroke of purple coloring” (wikipedia)

Says Ekiss about the process of making the design “I think I probably just had some [charcoal] on hand at my desk and was just messing around and I liked what came out.”  and about the name: “I had to come up with a name for it, so we just called it jazz.” (wikipedia)
