BUCK-TICK “Taboo”

17

Album cover for Japanese rock band BUCK-TICK's fourth studio album. It was recorded at Master Rock Studios in London and released through Victor Entertainment in 1989. Japanese designer Sakaguchi Ken designed the iconic cover.

Formed in 1983, BUCK-TICK is a Japanese rock band attributed for being a core influence of the visual kei movement. The band has experimented with many sounds and genres throughout their career, including gothic rock, punk rock, and industrial rock. Following  the release of “Taboo” the band began experimenting with a darker sound, attributing this to the “darker” local London music scene. “Taboo” was the band's first number one album.
