Diagram of an Atanasoff-Berry Computer, 1985
This is a diagram created of the Atanasoff-Berry Computer, Recognized as the first digital electronic computer produced, it was designed at Iowa State in 1942 by John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry. The computer was about the size of a desk and was designed to do linear equations, which could then be used to complete complex differential equations. The machine made use of vacuum tubes, capacitors, and a punch card system to function, and marks a key development in technology and design history.
