Iowa State Green GanderFebruary, 1931

3

The Green Gander was a satirical magazine that was produced at Iowa State by the men’s journalism honorary society of Sigma Delta Chi for the student body.

This is the cover and first two pages of the edition produced for February in 1931. The Gander serves as a window into the thoughts and social standards of the time, as it was constantly looking to push on social norms. This can be seen in the cover where it depicts a woman partying with devils.
