10th Tehran International Poster Biennial 2009

3

This poster is for the 10th Tehran International Poster Biennial 2009, designed by Ghobad Shiva, and is a visually striking example of modern Iranian graphic design. It features large, fluid cyan and orange Persian calligraphy on a dark background, blending traditional script with contemporary, textured visual elements.

It blends traditional Persian aesthetic elements with modern graphic design principles. This specific style, which Shiva developed over decades, has a distinct "Persian flavor" that is recognized internationally.

As per the regulations for the main section of the 10th Tehran International Poster Biennial, the works submitted were typically printed using offset lithography or silk screen methods.

The visual texture of the colors suggests a screen-printing process or a digital recreation of one. Has Indigenous Aesthetics, Expressive Calligraphy, Modern Graphic Design, Vibrant color, and texture.

Added by Natalia Jimenez for the History of Graphic Design course at Farmingdale State College-SUNY.  Professor Roshanak Keyghobadi.
