Based on the Shiraz Festival of Arts, Poster from 1972 by Ghobad Shiva. Was the most important festival in the world, where they offered a mix of different cultural fusions and dances, “without doubt the most important performing arts event in the world…,” was where most Iranians first encountered the traditional arts of Asia, Africa and Latin America—Indian raga music, Bharatanatyam and Kathakali, Qawwali, the music of Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Korea and Vietnam, Balinese Gamelan, Japanese Nôh, the drums of Rwanda, traditional dances of Bhutan, Senegal, Uganda, and Brazil.
The experience was eye-opening, expansive, magical, and transformative. Features two subjects: a Persian dancer and a bird of prey. This symbolized freedom. It was set against a vibrant red background with floral/abstract shapes, blending ancient Persian motifs with modern graphic design to represent cultural fusion and artistic expression. Celebrates Iranian cultural heritage.
