Satomi Munetsugu was an artist who spent the majority of his life abroad, and although his career as a graphic designer had been extremely successful, he was an artist that had been continuously dragged around by wars, politics, and propaganda. After being held in a POW camp in Thailand, the Thai government suggested that he stay in Thailand to teach and make graphic design. This poster was made in 1949, three years after being released from a POW camp.
