Yamana Ayao was a highly ranked and respected Graphic Designer known for producing works for Shiseido Co. His illustrations and designs were known to be elegant, delicate, and inspired by French Art Deco.
The central figure is a stylized female portrait composed almost entirely of continuous black lines against a beige background. Her hair is decorated with abstracted flowers, spirals, and circular motifs. The word "CHARLOTTE" is typed in a serif font.
