Kasho Takabatake was a famed nihonga artist, known for his illustrations and design work for magazines during the 1920s in Japan. His illustrations often included images of the “modern girl” intergrating Western and Japanese fashion together. This work is the cover art of a magazine called, Shojo Gaho, published in 1928. The cover includes two modern women dressed in western 20s fashion.
