Cover for the 63rd issue of Japanese gay men's magazine Barazoku. First published in 1971, Barazoku was the very first commercially published gay men's magazine in Japan. Each publication consisted of articles, interviews, artwork, news, and other information relating to the gay community. It ran from 1971 to 2008 and is the oldest gay magazine in Japanese history. The magazine's editor, Bungaku Ito, who had published erotic and homosexual works in the past. Barazoku was meant as a way to stand up for gay audiences against social prejudice.
