This poster is advertising Konji sui which was a popular Japanese mouthwash first sold in the early 20th century. The brand promoted the product as a modern medical product that could prevent gum disease and cavities. The exaggerated expression of the figures reflect a playful caricature style that was common in Japan at the time. This designed is assumed to be published around 1920-1930.
