Popeye Magazine 1978

10

A cover of Popeye, “Magazine for City Boys.” Featuring a cartoon-style pinball illustration, the design combines both American youth culture and Japanese trends. Founders of the magazine wanted to create a publication for young Japanese men that would bring over the lifestyle and fashion of young American men.

The loud, bubble lettering of the logo, designed by Seiichi Horiuchi, remains unchanged. Since every cover design is different, the logo's consistancy works to retains followers of the magazine.
