The Cherokee Phoenix, Feb. 21, 1828
The Cherokee Phoenix was a newspaper printed for the Cherokee Nation, it was a bilingual paper, printed in both English and in the Cherokee syllabary, the development of which is credited to Sequoyah and possibly influenced by the Red Bird petrogylphs.
