Aphex Twin Logo

3

The Aphex Twin logo was created in 1991 by designer Paul Nicholson by hand, using circle templates and rulers to draw an amorphic "A". The design was inspired by rejected sketches for a skateboarding brand and was intended to have an "alien" feel that suited the experimental electronic music of Richard D. James (Aphex Twin). The Aphex Twin logo is important because it's a powerful example of how a symbol can become iconic through its connection to a unique artistic identity.
