Kirin Beer Poster

20

This poster was made in the Showa era as an advertisement for Kirin Beer. It shows a strong and muscular man drinking a glass of beer in a bold and powerful way. He is wearing a white shirt, and his tanned skin makes a clear contrast, giving the feeling of health and energy. The product name “RUBINRIKI” is written in bright red letters with a yellow outline, making it easy to see. The font is similar to Gothic style, and it gives a strong and modern impression. Kirin Beer posters are very famous in Japan, but I think they usually show women in soft and beautiful images. That’s why I was really surprised when I saw this poster featuring a man. It gave me a different and new impression of the brand. This poster shows not only the product, but also the idea of strength, masculinity, and modern life at that time in Japan.
