This beer label, designed by Tadanori Yokoo, commemorates the year 2000 with a “Millennium Beer” theme. The red sun is covered with a traditional Japanese blur, and a Japanese-style ship is also depicted. The word “2000” is printed in large letters on the sail, and in the center of the label, an Edo period figure holds a flag with the word “Beer” written on it. The background is vertically striped red and black, evoking the image of a theater curtain, and other traditional Japanese cultural and symbolic elements are scattered throughout the label.
