The cover of this book is a cutout of white flowers from “White Flower and Ruddy Kingfisher (白花と赤翡翠),” a work by the Japanese painter Tanaka Isson. This work features a beautiful contrast in color between the white flowers and the red bird. Therefore, perhaps this book's cover pays respect to the original by making one of the letters in the title red instead of having no red bird.
