In the 1960s, Mattel, inc. created a toy that would dominate the boy toy industry just as their barbie bolls do for girls. Custom Barracudas, Camaros, Corvettes, Cougars, Firebirds, and others were the first models released in 1968. More than 800 models and 11,000 different designs have since been created.
