Dave Matthews Band: Verizon Wireless Amphitheater 7/10/10
Dave Matthews Band, or DMB, formed in 1991, the band blends rock, jazz, and folk music with improvisational live performance. Led by Dave Matthews, the band gained fame for hits like Crash Into Me and Ants Marching.
The band consistently hires artists in the locations of their tour. Local artists are contracted by the band, which has led to devoted fans and a positive conception of them in the areas they visit. Many Posters include nods to or aspects of the local culture, famous restaurants, landmarks or historical figures, with Dave Matthews event information, and each individual artist's aesthetic. Each poster highlights the individuality of each town. This specific poster has a note attached from Methane Studios, "My best friend hallucinated floating birthday cakes when he was a kid. His parents thought he was possessed and called a priest. They soon discovered the true cause. He had been building a lot of models and was inhaling large amounts of glue fumes." The archive of Dave Matthews’ posters show the creation of these posters, and the insane creative process of artists all across the United States.
