Flag of the Philippines

19

This is the flag of a southeast-asian country, the Philippines. It is a bi-color flag featuring blue at the top and red at the bottom, with a sun and 3 stars on the left.  The sun has 8 rays which represent the 8 provinces that have fought back against Spain during the colonization which is a huge part in the country's history. The 3 stars represent the 3 big regions in the Philppines, namely, Luzon, Mindanao, and Visayas. During war, the red and blue swap places and the red is at the top instead. Although simple looking, there is deep meaning within the design of the Philippine flag.
