Alan Fletcher is one of the known graphic designers after the Second World War; he was born in 1931 in Kenya, and in 1956, he moved to the United States and studied architecture and design at Yale. Then, he met Paul Rand, Alvin Eisenman, and Josef Albers, famous graphic designers who helped Fletcher in his career. One of the posters is British Painting '74 Hayward Gallery. It was for the Exhibition at Hayward Gallery. Fletcher disturbed the letters for spelling 'British Painting '74' using different colors and styles for each letter.
