The front cover of the book is an illustration of a peacock and the back cover shows an illustration of a dark faded hawk. In Japanese culture, the peacock has a spiritual significance because its iridescent feathers symbolize transforming bad traits into good ones, putting people on the path to spiritual awakening. Meanwhile, hawks symbolize strength and determination which can be felt in the illustration as it tries to catch up to the peacock.
