Revolution Until Victory

732

Revolution until victory is a poster created by Palestinian painter and art historian Ismail Shammout. The poster depicts the Tel al-Zaatar massacre of 1976 where there was an attack by Christian Lebanese militias, led by the Lebanese Front, on the Tel al-Zaatar Palestinian refugee camp in Beirut during the Lebanese Civil War. The poster was issued by the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Bureau in Berlin, Germany in 1977, and was dedicated to the German Democratic Republic. The phrase “Revolution until victory” at the bottom of the poster was translated from Arabic into English, French, and German.
