This book is a summation annual report for the DNP Foundation for Cultural Promotion entailing significant graphic art and design pieces and activities from January 2008 up until March 2009.
The book cover features a silhouette of a man waving three flags revolving around the concept of the “Three Flags for Three Cultural Messengers”. Shin Matsunaga saw how ‘flag-waving’ is seen as a symbol of nationalism, but he wanted to re-establish it as an emblem of joy. The silhouette is a character called “DNPman”, who represents the three cultural messengers for the DNP Foundation aligned with the foundation's mission to preserve, promote, and innovate in the field of graphic design.
The book cover design was made by Shinjiro Matsunaga and published by the DNP Foundation for Cultural Promotion.
