These credit cards were designed by Jennifer Morla for Nordstrom in 2000. Although it's hard to tell from a flat-lay photo, these cards are actually holographic. Morla stated that she considers holograms to be similar to animations, and takes advantage of that by allowing the movement in perspective of the cards to create moving images, mostly comprised of shapes. Nordstrom was so fond of Morla's designs that they created a new campaign in turn: Jennifer Morla for Nordstrom.
Adding lenticular designs to anything, whether cards, stickers, etc., automatically gives them an advantage in the world of fascination, in my opinion. Viewers typically feel compelled to look longer at the item and its different perspectives as a result of the curiosity of what other information it may hold that we can't yet see. I find the lenticular design to be a wise addition on Morla's part, as it adds a new element that a 2D card does not bare.
