This design was created by Kashiwa Sato to celebrate SMAP's 10th anniversary. The three colors—red, blue, and yellow—are not the members' colors, but the innovation appears in using only three colors. He came up with this idea based on the three components of a CD case: the front cover, back cover, and disc tray. As he designed various products for this group, each one in this collection was created using the same three colors arranged in different combinations.
SMAP was the most famous idol group of its time. Designing something with only three colors was a challenge. However, this design is unparalleled and stands out as unique and special emphasizing the power of the three primary colors.
