Maruhashi Tofu Store Brand Identity

A logo redesign of tofu store based in Iwate Prefectur, Japan, and it has been outlined by the Good Design Award as one of its winners in 2012. According to GDA’s wesbite, this redesign occurred a year after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, where the tofu store was greatly damaged. Their new concept was based on the phrase “Pile up history. Pile up everyday“, expressing the store’s unchanging nature regardless the struggles. This brand identity was designed by Eri Ishihara.
