The 8th installment to the shojo manga series, “Candy Candy”, following an orphan girl named Candice “Candy” White Ardley. Written by Kyoko Mizuki and iIllustrated by Igarashi Yumiko, the “Candy Candy” manga series made its debut in 1975, with the 8th volume published in 1978. The series had gone through several adaptations such as movies and television shows produced by Toei Animation. In 1977, the series won the 1st place of Kodansha Manga Award‘s shojo genre.
