Typographie is a manual of design that was created into a book in 1967 by Swiss typographer Emil Ruder.

It is a work that covers various typographic issues including color, weight, texture, legibility, and spacing. It became an essential resource for designers and design students, especially those who were interested in the “Swiss style” movement that took place during the 1950s and 1960s. This style was characterized by simplicity. legibility, objectivity, san-serif, grids, and asymmetrical layouts. This book includes chapters on both writing and printing. Over time this book has been reprinted and often gets abbreviated and reformatted.

This book represents the critical reflection on Ruder's teaching and practice as well as an accumulation of knowledge.
