The Class Pet from the Black Lagoon was a fictional children’s picture book written by Mike Thaler and illustrated by Jared Lee. It was published in 2003 by Scholastic Inc., and it was printed in the United States. It was a paperback book that was eight inches by eight inches in size.
This was the twelfth book of The Black Lagoon picture book series which was known for its humorous story and illustrations. As was typical for the stories in this series, this book recounted the wild and fantastical speculations of a fearful elementary school student as he anticipated meeting someone at his school for the first time. This time, he was going to meet his class’s new pet which he assumed would be some kind of monster.
