Sketches and frameworks of Graphika Manila Opening

10

These were the sketches and ideas behind the animation created for the opening of Graphika Manila 2014, a design conference in the Philippines. It is a creation that brings about questions of what makes a god different from humans and what are they made out of. It also includes Filipino ethnic culture such as the design for the bululs, which is a sculpted figure regarded as rice crop guardians by northern Filipinos, which is interesting to see as it is not a well-known art. Seeing the sketches come to life and become an animation makes it feel very explosive and a memorable way to open the conference.
