The Poster of "Swear to Defend the Nation to the Death"/誓与国土共存亡

10

This poster was probably produced by the Political Department of the National Government or the Political Department of the War Zone during the middle and late stages of the War of Resistance (1937-1945) as propaganda. The theme is a call for the military and civilians of the country to live and die together. Its striking red and black contrast and the image of a determined soldier are intended to arouse people's patriotic enthusiasm and spirit of sacrifice. It is a propaganda poster for the War of Resistance against Japan with typical characteristics of the times. The large characters at the bottom of the picture should be “die with the country” or similar slogans of dying to resist the enemy and protect the country, emphasizing the determination and responsibility of the military and civilians across the country in the War of Resistance against Japan.
