Design, Council of Industrial Design

35

This is the 1956 issue of the British magazine Design, designed by graphic designer Ken Garland.

The cover of this magazine uses a blue background with black thin-line illustrations. The yellow teapot on the shelf on the left echoes the color of the floor tiles.

In terms of type design, the bold "design" on the right uses a serif with a large spacing; the smaller "Council of Industrial Design" in the upper left corner uses a simple sans serif.
